Our key function is to provide information and advice to the Government on matters concerning policy and practice relevant to the lives of persons with disabilities. We provide this to Ministers and officials.
To inform our advice and to disseminate our work, we undertake consultations, and run seminars, workshops and conferences, where we may invite people with disabilities, families and carers, disability organisations, and others. We are committed to ensuring that our premises and our events are accessible to people with disabilities.
We engage with a wide range of stakeholders who are affected by our work e.g. Consultation, seminars and conferences. These include people with disabilities, parents, families and carers, disability organisations, social partners, research bodies and other mainstream organisations.
We also operate a Library service.
We consistently monitor our services, evaluate feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
We have appointed an Access Officer, whose role is to provide or arrange for and coordinate assistance and guidance to persons with disabilities accessing the services we provide. If you need help to use the NDA’s information and services, please phone (01) 608 0400 and ask for our Access Officer, Ruth O’Reilly, or email AccessOfficer@nda.ie.
