Environment & Housing

The National Disability Authority conducts research on housing and the built environment, undertakes consultation and hosts seminars and workshops, to inform policy advice and the development of standards of design.

It is important that homes meet the needs of our diverse population and can be readily adapted as people grow older or experience disability. It is also important that roads, streets, buildings and public places are designed for use by the widest section of the public, regardless of age, size ability or disability.
