The theme of the 2019 Research Promotion Scheme was People with disabilities experiencing homelessness.

Two research projects were awarded funding. They are:


  • School of Nursing Psychotherapy and Community Health, Dublin City University, Ireland, Adult Autism in Homelessness: Prevalence, Experiences and Support Needs in an Irish Context - A Mixed Methods Study

  • Trinity Centre for Ageing and Intellectual Disability: The experience and risk of homelessness for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and their families in Dublin. A mixed methods study

The National Disability Authority held a webinar on ‘Disability and Homelessness’ on 8th December 2020, to launch the above reports.

The webinar presented the findings of the two studies commissioned by the NDA and was followed by a panel discussion.
