Access Officer Guidance for Public Bodies

As set out under Section 26 of the Disability Act 2005 public bodies are required to appoint an Access Officer in the organisation to arrange and co-ordinate the provision of assistance and guidance to persons with disabilities accessing its services.

To assist public bodies in meeting this requirement the National Disability Authority has produced this guidance document which details the role and responsibilities of the Access Officer and some key considerations for public bodies when appointing an Access Officer or Access Team.
