Transport and disability by geographical area

Access to transport is a key to achieving social inclusion. The National Disability Authority commissioned research to look at use of different kinds of transport by people with disabilities, depending on what kind of area they live in, whether cities, towns, or rural areas. This was based on an in-depth analysis of the National Disability Survey. People with disabilities are highly dependent on car transport, whether as passengers or drivers, and this is more striking in rural areas.
