This paper is a synthesis of the presentations that took place at a seminar in 2011 to inform the development of the Comprehensive Employment Strategy. The paper captures information on good practice approaches to support people with mental health issues to obtain and retain employment.
It includes the Individual Placement with Support Programme used in the UK which is now in place in Ireland. It also includes a model used by employability Service West Cork and perspectives from the National Economic and Social Forum’s 2007 report on Mental Health and Social Inclusion.
