Our Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) colleagues hosted an in-person design sprint titled ‘AI as an Accessibility Partner’ in our offices today.

This exploratory design sprint workshop looked at how AI might support in delivering accessible, equitable services – and where it may risk compromising them. Participants explored diverse user personas, real public service use cases, collaboratively shaping design principles and guardrails for AI within accessibility contexts.

You can read more about the intersection of Universal Design, AI and accessibility in our report ‘AI and Disability Inclusion in Ireland Opportunities and Challenges Across Six Key Sectors’ which can be found on our CEUD website.

This event is part of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation’s ‘Public Services Transformation Week’ taking place from 10 -14 November.
