Monitoring of the National Disability Inclusion Strategy (NDIS) 2017-2022
We produced an annual independent Assessment of Progress of the National Disability Inclusion Strategy.
Our assessments did not provide a detailed analysis of each of the 125 actions within the revised National Disability Inclusion Strategy but instead focused on broader areas or themes, drawing on actions relevant to those themes and highlighting areas where further focus and commitment was required.
National Disability Inclusion Strategy (NDIS) Indicators
In 2018, we developed a set of indicators, in consultation with a number of stakeholders, which played a role in the identification of trends and issues assisting measurement of change and progress of the NDIS 2017-2021.
In 2019, we carried out a review of progress (published in 2020) towards meeting these indicators to measure the progress of the National Disability Inclusion Strategy to coincide with the mid-term review of the strategy.
We carried out a final review of progress (2023) on the NDIS indicators and this report has now been published.
Monitoring of the Comprehensive Employment Strategy (CES) 2015-2024
During its lifetime, we conducted an annual independent assessment of implementation of the Comprehensive Employment Strategy for People with Disabilities 2015-2024.
Comprehensive Employment Strategy (CES) Indicators
We developed a set of indicators for monitoring the Comprehensive Employment Strategy for People with Disabilities and conducted a mid-term analysis of indicators for monitoring progress under the CES, which we published in 2020.
Final Review
As the Comprehensive Employment Strategy for People with Disabilities came to an end in 2024, we produced a comprehensive final review of progress under the strategy.
To conduct the review, a number of methods were adopted:
- A suite of indicators developed to monitor progress under the CES was examined a final time.
- Annual, independent assessment reports on the CES developed by the NDA were reviewed.
- Views on key achievements of the strategy and on areas requiring further focus and development were sought from key stakeholders
- Findings from previous NDA and DCEDIY engagement with disabled people that related to employment and held during the lifetime of the CES were drawn on.
