On November 26 the NDA attended the launch of a HIQA report which looks back on the last 10 years of regulation of designated centres for persons with disabilities.
A group of diverse stakeholders attended to reflect on the changes that have happened in the sector over the past decade and the positive impact that regulation has made to the lives of people using services.
In 2015 the National Disability Authority published an independent review of the experience of regulation, standards and inspections of residential services for people with disabilities, with a particular focus on the first year of operation. It is interesting to see how things have and have not developed since that report.
