The NDA has published its Annual Report for the year ending 31 December 2025. The annual report presents an overview of our activities and outputs during the first year of our three-year Strategic Plan 2025-2027. As this report covers the 25th anniversary year of the founding of the NDA, we’re particularly proud of our output this year and are reflecting on all the work we’ve completed so far as an organisation.
Some of the achievements of the NDA this year that are included in the report are:
Publications
- Publication of a number of reports and guidance under our Autism Innovation Strategy actions.
- Publishing reports on 2024 compliance with Part 5 of Disability Act 2005 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive.
- Publishing research on the experiences of people as the Wards of Court system is dismantled.
- Updating the Guidance on the Role of Access Officers for Public Bodies.
- Conducting a review on the operation of the Irish Sign Language Act 2017.[RT1]
Events
- Hosting an Annual Conference on Article 23 of the UNCRPD.
- Running three events in collaboration with AccessibleEU.
- Engaging with Oireachtas Committees across various topics.
- Hosting the Universal Grand Challenge 2025.
- Running our webinar series on Universal Design in the Built Environment.
- Running the ninth Someone Like Me art competition.
We also completed a programme of works to improve the accessibility of our building.
