Today, October 22, NDA’s Dr. Rosalyn Tamming participated in a panel discussion at the launch of the ESRI’s report Trends in Disability Prevalence among Young People: Insights from the Growing Up in Ireland Study | ESRI
This report presents an analysis two cohorts of the Growing Up in Ireland study examining trends in the prevalence of disability among 13-year olds over the decade 2011/2012 to 2021/2022. Despite changes in measurements used, the trend is towards an increase in disability prevalence in this age group over time. The findings point to a number of areas for further policy development including in health, education, family support and recreational facilities.
