NDA Submission to the Policing and Community Safety Authority on the Draft Strategy 2026-2028

The NDA provided comments on the Policing and Community Safety Authority’s (PCSA) draft Strategy Statement, covering the period 2026-2028. The PCSA is a new organisation, and a successor to the Policing Authority and Garda Síochána Inspectorate. The NDA advised that the accessibility of An Garda Síochána’s services should be a core focus of the PCSA’s assessment work. The NDA’s contribution also highlighted the importance of the PCSA engaging with disabled people and DPOs, enhancing its data and research on disability and policing, complying with its statutory obligations in relation to disability and benchmarking An Garda Síochána’s performance against its forthcoming Human Rights Strategy.
