NDA submission to the Teaching Council to inform the Céim Initial Teacher Education review

The NDA noted the government’s commitment to progressive realisation of inclusive education, the many barriers to that in practice, and the continued growth in special schools and classes. Our recommendations for strengthening Céim to support inclusive education emphasised disability equality and Universal Design in Education, supporting greater access for disabled student teachers to the programme, and a greater focus on developing skills to support children with diverse needs.
